United Country Real Estate ended 2015 on a high note in land sales. In the fourth quarter, United Country sold $252 million in land – up 13 percent from 2014. The entire year ended up one percent with a total of $843 million. The numbers show potential growth for the 2016 year.
For those looking to buy or sell land, there are ways to increase your land’s value. Creating and improving multi-use trails can increase outdoor experience while also increasing value. Before you begin, mentally plan the construction by asking yourself what the intended uses are for the trail? It could be anything from a hunting stand or hiking to mountain biking or snowmobiling. Use the answer to these and other questions to help you design a trail that will save you time and money.
Once you decide your purpose and where you want the trail is when you get out on the property and decide the best route. Priorities when choosing a route should include minimizing soil disturbance, protecting riparian areas and minimal future trail maintenance. The tools you may need include flagging tape, a shovel, rake, chainsaw and lawnmower. Always remember that safety is most important.
Building a trail can be hard, but it is rewarding. Make your land sales boom in 2016 just by creating a multi-use trail. The extra money in your pocket will make you glad you did.
